An Open Door
for Veterans
Somewhere to go, animals that need looking after, and nobody asking you to explain yourself. Part of the sanctuary we are building — it is not open yet.
The offer بيت
There Is No Program
to Enroll In
No intake. No assessment. No forms, no clipboard, no sitting in a circle. Nobody is going to ask you what happened.
When the sanctuary opens, the offer is this: there is a place, there are animals in it, and you are welcome. Come and sit. Walk a dog. Fill the water. Leave when you want to leave, and come back when you want to come back.
We are not going to tell you that being around animals fixes anything. That is not our claim to make and we are not qualified to make it. What we can offer is a place to be, work worth doing, and animals that do not need you to say a word.

A day there رعاية
What a Visit
Would Look Like
Written in the future tense on purpose. The sanctuary is not open. This is what we are building toward.
You arrive
Somebody says hello and shows you where things are. That is the whole of the orientation.
You do what you want
Sit with a dog. Walk one. Do nothing at all. There is no minimum and no schedule to keep.
Or you work
Feeding, water, cleaning runs, brushing, exercise. There is always more to do than there are hands to do it, and it is real work rather than an activity.
Other veterans
Some days there will be others there, some days there will not. Nobody is going to make you talk to anyone.
You leave when you leave
No sign-out, no check-in next week, no follow-up call unless you ask for one.
You can adopt
If one of them turns out to be yours, that is the best outcome any of this has.
A way back in عمل
If You Want More
Than an Afternoon
Some people want to be around the animals. Some want a job to do, a qualification, or a way back into work. Both are welcome and they are not the same thing.
If you are a veterinary technician, an animal care tech, or you are studying and need hands-on hours, there is a separate route in. It is on its own page because it comes with its own conditions and we would rather be precise about them.
Plainly يد
If You Need More
Than We Can Offer
Say so, to someone
This is a place to spend an afternoon with animals. It is not treatment and we would be doing you a disservice by dressing it up as one.
If things are bad, the Veterans Crisis Line is available around the clock: dial 988 and press 1 , or text 838255 . You do not need to be enrolled in VA care and you do not need to be in crisis to call.

When the gate opens معاً
We Will Tell You
When It Is Ready
Leave your name and we will let you know when there is somewhere to come to.
