Arabic interpreting in Orange County, an animal sanctuary we are building, and an open door for veterans. Here is why those belong on one website.

What We Do
Global Linguistic Services provides in-person Arabic and English interpreting across Orange County, California — meetings, government proceedings, legal and medical appointments, and business.
Alongside that, we are working toward an animal sanctuary in Southern California: a permanent home for rescued animals, with an open door for veterans who want to be around them, and placements for people who need hands-on hours in animal care.
The interpreting is running today. The sanctuary is not. We would rather say that on the first page you read than let you find out on the fourth.

Together
The honest answer is that they are the same job done with different materials.
An interpreter spends their working life in the gap between two people who cannot reach each other. You stand in the middle and you carry what is meant, not just what is said, and if you do it badly somebody loses a hearing or a diagnosis or a home.
A rescued animal is in a version of the same gap. So is somebody who came back from a deployment and found that the people around them are speaking a language they no longer quite have.
None of that makes interpreting and animal rescue the same activity. It does explain why the same person ended up doing both, and why we are not going to split them into two websites pretending to be strangers.

Where We Are
Based in Orange County, California. Interpreting work covers the county and, when it makes sense, just outside it — ask and we will give you a straight answer rather than a map.
The sanctuary will be in or near Southern California. Where exactly depends entirely on land, which is the part we have not solved.

Set Up
Worth being clear about
Global Linguistic Services is a for-profit business. It is not a registered charity and it does not hold 501(c)(3) status.
The rescue and sanctuary work is funded by the language work and by our own time. That is why there is no donate button anywhere on this site and no tax-deductible anything. If that ever changes, this page will be the first place it says so.

Where We Are Headed

Keep the language work strong
It pays for everything else, and it is worth doing well on its own terms.

Build a foster network
Rescue begins the day there are homes willing to hold an animal temporarily. This can start long before there is any land.

Find the land
The hard one. Acreage in or near Southern California, correctly zoned, with water. Every other step waits on this.
- 04
Open the doors
Animals first, then the veterans program, then the placements. In that order, because the animals are the thing everything else is built around.
